Cut to 2019…The Humans of Pride documentary shares what it’s like inside queer culture in NYC during the moment in time that is Stonewall50 and WorldPride NYC. The filmmakers aim to leverage this opportunity as an unbiased “State of Activism Address” to the world, presenting LGBTQIA+ activist stories across all walks of life, both as individuals and as a people in America today.

In this feature documentary, a crew of queer activists and filmmakers unite to discover the true meaning of pride and the powerful role it has in the future. As four million people descended upon their hometown of New York City for the first WorldPride on US soil, these young filmmakers dive in to share the magic, controversy, wisdom, and story behind it all.

Here’s Alicia Keys solo performing her ‘Stonewall Tribute’ version of her NYC classic anthem, Empire State of Mind (New York). She brought the magic right outside The Stonewall Inn in June of 2019, on that same ground where the 1969 riots flooded onto Christopher Street in the West Village. We published this in March 2020 as a tribute to the heath care workers on the front lines battling the relentless first waves of Covid.
