In June of 2019, New York City opened its doors to the first WorldPride ever hosted in the United States.
The celebration honored the 50th anniversary of the Stonewall Riots and the event that sparked a worldwide movement. This truly once in a generation experience spanned over 30 days, with over 100 events, and over 4 million people participating.
Humans of Pride is the story of a rare unified moment of both peace and protest, and will become global tale for decades to come.
This documentary follows the journey of an all-volunteer film crew as they turn the entire city of New York into their film set. Capturing off the cuff interviews, and literally doing it live in one of the most complex productions ever, was something they had to figure out fast.
While attending many of the high profile events, the Humans of Pride team goes behind the scenes to gather exclusive interviews from a slew of celebrities, activists, and leaders. The interviews are driven by thought provoking conversation, addressing the community’s past, present, and challenges of the future.
This film is not just art, but a blueprint and vehicle for achieving the mission of inspiring hope and progress for the world wide LGBTQIA+ community of tomorrow.
